About

Tai Tam Tuk Foundation is a community initiative and Hong Kong charity dedicated to the conservation, wise use and sustainable development of this place - Tai Tam Tuk.  

 

We are based in a tiny historic village in Hong Kong island’s Southern District where you will find nature and heritage everywhere: a fishing village with its own dragon boat festival, brick dams first patrolled on horseback and run by a steam-powered pumping station and one of the earliest Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)* which includes the only remaining mangrove ecosystem on Hong Kong island**. Plus, amazing hiking and kayaking. 

 

We see TTT as a laboratory for sustainable development and coastal, marine, and wetland conservation- yes that can and must go together- a place to test ideas for education and wise use.
