Education for Sustainable Development local schools programme

Our very first workshops were developed for UNESCO HK Association's Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Learning Programme, 2012/13 & 2013/14 aimed at local primary and secondary schools.  

 

UNESCO HK set up ESD Learning Programme in 2009.  Students join talks, workshops and field visits on sustainable development themes, then over six months (and 60 learning hours!) they design, carry out and write up a group project and present to a

judging panel.      

 

We created three hands-on field visits: Water and Us, with Water Supplies Department (Built Environment & Placemaking), Flora and Fauna of Tai Tam Tuk, with HKU Swire Institute of Marine Science (Environment), and Life of a Plant (Life Studies - Primary School).
